Walter Berry

Counsellor / Play Therapist & Supervisor

"

I view life as a journey that has led me to hold various job titles in the steel and construction industry before starting my counselling practice in 2012. Although people often commended me for being a good listener, it was only through working with clients who required a non-judgmental and safe space to share their stories that I truly appreciated the value of attentive listening.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their ethical guidelines, which you can find on the links page. Finding someone who can provide a therapeutic relationship where you feel secure and at ease is not always easy in our daily lives. Those who know me well describe me as approachable and relaxed, someone who listens without judgment and can empathize genuinely.

I do not specialise in any particular area, but I am open to working with whatever issues are brought into the counselling room. I take a non-directive approach; however, I can integrate other counselling techniques if you prefer a more directive focus.

Being neurodiverse informs my perspective. I believe that we all have the capacity to help ourselves, given the right conditions. Simply reading this may be the first step in your journey.
