Walter Berry

Counsellor / Play Therapist & Supervisor

"I view life as a journey that has led me to hold various job titles in the steel and construction industry before starting my counseling practice in 2012. Although people often commended me for having a good listening ear, it was only through working with clients who required a non-judgmental and safe space to share their stories that I truly appreciated the value of being an attentive listener.

As a registered member, I adhere to the ethical guidelines of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). You can check them out on the links page. I understand that finding someone who can provide a therapeutic relationship where you feel secure and at ease is not always easy in our daily lives. Those who know me well describe me as an approachable and relaxed person who listens without judgment and can empathize with them. I do not specialize in any particular area, but I accept and work with whatever is brought into the counseling room.

I take a non-directive approach, howver I can integrate other counseling techniques if you prefer a more directive approach to focus on an issue.

I am neurodiverse. You can click here to read more about it. I believe that we all have the ability to help ourselves given the right conditions, and simply reading this may be the first step in your journey."
